Skin Care Routine Remix

Routines build structure and consistency to your life, but they can also get boring and dull. As the seasons change, your skin might need a change, too. Here are some recommendations for making a manageable transition in your skin care routine.

One product at a time:

Don’t throw too many changes at your skin at once, it can go into shock. The biggest problem will be not knowing which product really triggered the reaction. Therefore, transition easy.

Remember, your goal is to correct for things such as: discoloration, dryness, or breakout. If you have an immediate reaction, depending on the product, push pause. Read the directions and let the product do its thing for several weeks to a month before jumping ship completely. On the flip side, if nothing is happening, you may want to switch to a stronger product. Check with a dermatologist for a pharmaceutical strength product to get the quickest and strongest correction.

Unless you are trying to correct several problem areas at once, the products you choose do not have to be from the same skin care line. Finding a cleanser from one and a serum from another can really unlock potential not found otherwise. If you are working on maintenance, look for products that are well suited to your age and your individual needs. Sticking to the same skin care line can be convenient but not mandatory. Have fun shopping!

Shop Women Owned:

Speaking of shopping, study up on who is selling you what! Try not to sign up for the newest procedures on the market. Aesthetics companies spend a lot of marketing dollars to promote their services. Figure out what you need and research accordingly.

Women all over the world are creating their own skin care lines with women as well as their own needs in mind. Whether you are interested in clean, K-beauty or J-beauty, Vegan, Socially Conscious, or Total Wellness, there is a women owned brand out there for you. Remember to talk with friends. You may be able to support a self employed skin care business in your very own neighborhood.

Set a Reminder:

My phone is great at reminding me to wake up, go to a meeting, drink water, my aunt’s birthday, and even go to bed. I recommend adding a reminder for your new skin care routine. This is a chance for a little self care and guarantees you will see the results of the new products you are trying.

All in all, the leaves changing is a good reminder to change up your routine to get a fresh and fabulous face. Here’s the plan: use one product at a time, try different skin care lines, show your support with self-employed skin care businesses, and set a reminder. It’s time for a skin care routine remix!
